Visitor’s comments

2018 was the first year for the new owners, so guest’s comments are only from this year. However the lovely previous owners had many returning guests to Gîte Le Berme which speaks volumes for the gîte and the holiday location:-

"Fantastic stay...we will return! Great place to visit is Beynac, it has a fabulous Chateau and also canoe rental. Bergerac Market on Wednesday and Friday mornings is good too. We wish Peter and Pauline every success, we can think of no better place to be." Francis and Craig Murray (Gîte Le Berme's first guests of 2018).

" Beautiful gîte with fantastic pool and garden....all essentials and great little touches to make it home from home atmosphere. The pool is kept immaculately clean....the best well kept pool we have known on our holidays to France over the last 8 years "

" We arrived in the midst of a European heatwave! Wonderful on the one hand and we took full advantage of the pool and relaxing gardens. However, it meant we didn't take full advantage of everything Le Berme has to offer. We did enjoy: Cycling to Castillonnes for croissants; Chateau Monbazillac; Bergerac (market on Weds), many beautiful towns; Chateau Duras (suitable for children) and Bergerac wine tour (suitable for adults- they collect & drop you off + provide lunch!)"

" This is our third visit to Le Berme: we were little concerned that things would be a different under new owners -but we shouldn't have worried, we were made very welcome....we've had a great time staying in this fantastic place "

" Lots of interesting towns to see - lovely countryside. Loved the nature walks around the house and of course the lovely relaxing seats around the pool - what bliss! "

The gîte season has been deliberately shortened this year with a plan to develop a covered outside space area to the side of the gite specifically for table tennis, pool etc. which will take place during the autumn and winter. The gite interior will also be enhanced and decorated, but no radical changes. So ending the comments page for this year with a few words from our final summer guests, Andrew & Naomi :-

" The pool is pristine and the perfect accompaniment for lazing around in the hot weather with a book. The surrounding grounds are ideal for a walk or run; very peaceful. As avid cyclists we were keen to try the electric bikes and we must say, they're excellent! The best way to take in the local area. Fantastic weather and an extremely relaxing and pleasant stay.
